Twitter Deep Dive 2 – The Twitter Marketing Community

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re looking to improve your marketing skills. Whether you’re developing your own business and taking it to the next level, a rising marketer or looking for a change of career, there is always more to learn.

Scott Brinker’s ‘Martec’s Law’ puts it simply: technological change is exponential and fast, but organisational change tends to be slow. What results is the inability to keep UP. Buzzwords like artificial intelligence, machine learning and chat-bots get thrown around, but it’s almost impossible to stay on top of the news, let alone implement this into your business.

Allow me to introduce you to the wondrous world of the Twitter marketing community. Whilst we recommend you follow our blog to keep up, there is a world of information out there, and only a few of us.

The nature of Twitter allows for quick and frequent updates, and we’ve stumbled across a few Twitter handles that dedicate themselves to providing the latest updates on the world of marketing and business.

1) Marketing Land (@Marketingland)

Boasting over 200k followers, Marketing Land specialises in socials and analytics, and is quickly moving to cover the Martech space (marketing technology), one of the aforementioned challenges of marketing. Posts a varied suite of articles in expanding your skills, free webinars and even hosts Martech events!

2) Digital Marketing with Mike (@MKT_With_Mike)

A gem find of ours, Marketing with Mike is a much smaller but dedicated business coach and digital marketer that specialises with paid ads and automation. He regularly makes quick and easy to digest videos tailored for small businesses. If that’s you, get on it!

3) Twitter Marketing AU (TwitterMktgAU)

If you’re not Australian, feel free to skip onto the next one. Or not, there’s no harm in getting some insight from across the pond. Twitter Marketing is an account that acts as a sub-reddit, providing a space for Australian users to discuss anything marketing related.

4) Marketingb2b (@MarketingB2B)

If you work in B2B, this one’s for you. They use engaging videos and content to bring you a cohesive training resource. They go beyond the usual training by giving concrete case studies and real life examples of where B2B has been used right.

5) Moz (@Moz)

We saved the best for last. The struggles of keeping up with the Google algorithm can be difficult, but Moz keeps it simple with their detailed but easy to understand videos and infographics on SEO. Trust me when I say you won’t regret this one.

There we have it, just 5 Twitter accounts to follow that can give you some useful insight into the marketing world as you’re doing your usual Twitter scroll. You may not notice it, but the tiny bits of daily exposure will keep you up to date with the latest marketing trends. And of course, follow us at @KeepUpdigital, we retweet interesting and useful insights all the time!
